Hyundai’s managing director Thomas Holm hands over the keys to Monika Ekström and Pontus Lindberg, Region Skåne.

The Region Skåne has now received its two ix35 FCEV from Hyundai. The cars are among the first from the assembly line produced fuel cell vehicles from the Korean automaker. The purchase is the result of the Region Skåne’s years of determined work towards a fossil free transport. It is also a delivery in the Next Move project, which has brought an additional six cars to the city of Copenhagen and one to the municipality of Skedsmo.

“We intend to continue in this way towards an acceptable infrastructure. We are looking at different solutions to reach our goal”, says Pontus Lindberg, Chair of the Regional Growth Committee, in a press release from Hyundai Bilar AB.

”Region Skåne is the fifth largest employer in Sweden, with this comes a responsibility to pave way”, Monika Ekström, Chair of the Committee on Properties and Services, comments the engagement in hydrogen development. “Our ambition is to produce zero emission hydrogen, mainly by wind and hydropower”, she continues.

Thomas Holm, the managing director of Hyundai in Sweden, delivered the cars in Malmö on the 28th of June 2013.
